Description

On 14 December, the Estonian Government Office and the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) host a major digital event in Brussels to assess the progress of Estonian''s efforts to advance the Digital Single Market and Presidency digital priorities.

This full-day event will explore ways in which technology and new digital business innovations impact the EU economy. These trends affect a number of industry sectors, including finance, manufacturing, transport, energy and healthcare. Summary of the results

The event took place on 14th of December 2017 as planned. 

Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas and Norwegian State Secretary Paul Chaffey headlined the opening plenary followd by the European Commission Vice President Andrus Ansip.

At the opening panel session, parties expressed views on data flows as well as on the future of government digitalisation in broad and highlighting the possible cooperation frameworks to follow.

At midday plenary session, the technical subject of digitalizing tax collection filled the hall. Hans-Christian Holte, Director of Norway Tax Administration, and Valdur Laid, Director of Estonia Tax and Customs Board, outlined their collaboration and achievements in simplifying tax filing for businesses and citizens.

The final payment to the project promoter was made on 9th of March 2018.
