Description

The project will contribute to boosting the awareness of the multiple discrimination of the Roma LGBT+ community leading to detabooing the topics and inciting implementation of focused measures/ policies. Discrimination against LGBT+ Roma is not just perpetrated by mainstream society members (sexual orientation, ethnicity) but also by the members of the Roma community and by members of the LGBT+ community. Project focuses on 3 main activites: 1) Awareness-raising: Landing page in Norwegian; 2) Institutional and policy oriented: Round table in Norway and 3) International Roma LGBT+ conference

Summary of the results

Thanks to the bilateral initiative, the promoter achieved two main goals: 1) the opening of the Roma LGBT+ topic in Norway, where no one has yet addressed it and strengthening the International Roma Platform with a new organization with a planned future cooperation, 2) the organization of a large-scale and thematically very varied international conference, including subsequent publications summarizing the outputs from the round tables and with an overview of the conference contributions.
