Description

The objective of the meeting between the representatives of the Office of the Czech Government Agent before the European Court of Human Rights, Ministry of Justice, and The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights is to present each other their current and planned activities regarding the awareness raising on the human rights standards. Based on the meeting, the parties will be able to determine possible forms of their future cooperation which might include the interconnection of the information on website “Charterpedia” of the FRA and the new integrated web portal about human right

Summary of the results

The initiative contributed to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two partners and was positively evaluated by all participants. The knowledge and materials obtained will be used in the preparation and implementation of the PDP5 project - The Awareness Raising on the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights and other international human rights obligations of the Czech Republic. Beyond expectations, FRA representatives expressed their willingness to be involved as a partner in the PDP 5 project without financial involvement. The valuable experience that FRA representatives can transfer to the representatives of the Czech Ministry of Justice can significantly contribute to better and more user-friendly access to information and documents on the newly created web portal, thereby also contributing to the spread of human rights awareness.
