Description
The initiative shall support the strengthening, widening, and intensification of a scientific collaboration between Masaryk University and the University of Bergen (UIB). The specific aims of the initiative are:
Strengthening: better interpersonal relationships and more experimental work performed together
Widening: inviting more people from both partner institutions to this collaboration to expand our preclinical research to clinical
Intensification: more mobility to assure a smooth transfer of knowledge among the researchers and their students.
The topic of the collaboration is pharmacological
Summary of the results
Strengthening: better interpersonal relationships and more experimental work performed together - was fulfilled as more Czech colleagues were involved in the collaboration, new results were obtained and more analyses of existing samples were performed. More people from both partner institutions were invited to this collaboration to expand the preclinical research to clinical. This is considered as the most important achievement of the initiative. The initiative started as continuation of a previous project of the same type with prof. Skrede. However, it was managed not only to intensify the joint research efforts (as reflected mainly by the papers and grant proposals), but prof. Skrede suggested to extend the collaboration to her colleagues from Tromso. A research study was performed together, obtained an internal MU start-up project for this topic and new data were being collected. More mobilities assured a smooth transfer of knowledge among the researchers and their students. This aim was also achieved as can be judged by the mobilities. There was even the first student mobility from Brno to Bergen, where Ms. Maraczek Markova (PhD student of dr. Horska) has spent one-week internship as a part of her PhD project. This mobility was not funded from this project, but happened thanks to the collaboration with prof. Skrede. (Mobilities, workshop and conference presentations took place).
