Description

The initiative is focused on experience exchange in improving productivity of plants to ensure food security and sustainable agricultural development. A better understanding how seeds and production can be modulated is the goal of this short-term research. It will consist of two visits and lab work of the Norwegian
expert at the Applicant''s premises; in addition, two lectures shall be organized for the students and early-career scientists during the visits. As a result, two publications shall be written (international journal and a popular education article) and the research is planned to be

Summary of the results

Two visits of the expert from NIBIO (Adam Vivian-Smith) were realized in May 2022. Researchers from CEITEC MU and NIBIO participated in the ICSPR conference in Prague (http://www.prague2020.eu/, June 2022). The researchers also prepared two educational articles 1) in Frontiers for Young Minds and 2) in MjUNI academy. Sensors were prepared in the lab and transformed into the plants as planned. The expression of the sensors was checked in the first transgenic plants. Mr. Adam Vivian-Smith brought unique expertise in miRNAs and their role in seed development to CEITEC lab. The cooperation between Robert Boisivon´s lab at CEITEC MU and Adam Vivian-Smith´s lab at NIBIO worked very well and will continue.
