Description

The aim of this initiative is to contribute to better mutual understanding of differences between both countries in European integration, Environment perception, Sustainability and trust in European policies. The consortium of four entities - EUROPEUM (CZ), SIFO (NO), Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University (CZ) and STEM (CZ) wants to identify and discuss research gaps in each country, share research methods and develop a joint grant application that would cover identified research gaps. The goal is thus to merge existing experience in research and to enrich all participating

Summary of the results

During the project implementation period, we have organized several online meetings whose aim was to create joint research note. The research note was eventually used as a baseline for our in-person discussion in November 2021, where we elaborated our future research plan. The original timeline had to be postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which did not allow personal meetings.

First online meeting – 16th November 2020; Project implementation plan, Research Note structure, Introduction of the participants

Second online meeting – 23rd March 2021; Discussion over the first Research Note draft

Third online meeting – 27th October 2021; Planning trip to Prague, Public Event, Content of the in-person meeting.

Personal meeting in Prague – 11th-12th November 2021, which included one online Public Debate, two-day seminar focusing on future research plan.

Public debate – 11th November 2021.

Apart from meetings and public debates, we also produced joint research plan, a research note describing situation in the Czech Republic and Norway, as well as two media articles on topic related to the topic of the project.

We fulfilled the main goal of the project – creating new ties between the Norwegian and Czech research as well as exchange of lesson learned during our previous academic activity. We managed to create a well-functioning consortium that will be able to prepare joint grant applications, and conduct cutting-edge research in the future.
