Summary of the results

In the frame of the initiative a symposium and study visits between the Brno City Museum and the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo (NMA) took place. The following events were organized: 1 workshop in Oslo, 1 symposium in Brno and 2 study visits to Oslo. The visit of the Norwegian partner in Brno was cancelled due to difficulties during the Covid - period. Nevertheless, the cooperation between both institutions has deepen significantly. The study visits of the Czech team accompanied with the Councilor for Culture of the Statutory City of Brno to Oslo enabled to visit the Munch Museum, the Folkemuseum (including meetings of the head management and staff), the Vigeland museum, Frogner park etc. On the NMA worksop Villa Tugendhat (BRNO) was presented and accomplished by a visit to Villa Stenersen and other buildings of the 20th century architecture.

During joint meetings online and during the study visit and workshop in Oslo, the specifics of the protection of modern architecture, special methods of its conservation - restoration and interpretation including related decorative art through museum expositions and exhibitions were discussed. The lectures of BCM representatives at the workshop in Oslo contributed to promotion of the cultural heritage in CR, works on Villa Arnold and, indirectly, to the large participation of Norwegian museum staff at the ICOM Prague 2022 General Conference, where Norway was represented by 54 participants.
