Description
This initiative is focused on establishing trilateral scientific partnership of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences and two universities from Norway and Iceland. Each research team has expertise in different aspects of Dark Matter physics, which makes the mutual cooperation very effective and enriching.
The initiative is based on the initial joint workshop in CR, which will identify topics for further cooperation, knowledge exchange, and expertise sharing. The follow-up scientific stays (1 expert/5 days) in each hosting institute will include talks and lectures, seminars
Summary of the results
The workshop “The Unbearable Lightness of the Universe” was held in Prague on Sep 16-18, at the venue “Pracovna” which provided an ideal space for the hybrid format of the meeting, thanks to its technical equipment, for 27 participants, in total. There were 13 specialized talks and presentations, 7 discussions and a summary session. Secondly, nine reserachers completed scientific missions i.e. visits of the partner Institutions for up to a week. Within each visit, the schedule was adapted to maximise each scientist’s transfer of knowledgeand; every visit included at least one specialised talk delivered by the visitor to the host team. The main organisers were Federico Urban in Prague, CZ (main organiser of the whole project), David Mota in Oslo, NO and Jesus Zavala in Reykjavik, IS. The main achievements were: (1) an extensive transfer of knowledge among the teams in the three partner Institutions: all researchers are now informed in detail about everyone’s skills, resources, expertise and future projects; (2) the conception of at least three possible future joint projects, which, if coronated with success, would lead to at least as many scientific publications in high-impact scientific journals, and spark future collaboration among partner Institutions; (3) an increased awareness in all three partner Institutions (and among external participants for the workshop) about the objectives and funding options of EEA and Norway grants.
