Description

DOC.STREAM Academy initiative consists of four main activities, the aim of which is to promote collaboration between Czech and Norwegian educational entities and film students, establish new contacts, open up networking possibilities, present the films and projects of the participants and exchange experience, increase competences of the participants and possibly in collaboration create new art projects as well as enhance international cooperation.
DOC.STREAM Academy was a workshop, connecting two educational institutions – Nordland Art and Film School and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts

Summary of the results

This  initiative brought together students from Nordland Art and Film School and FAMU and UMPRUM (Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague). Through presentations of their works (during the programmes DOC.STREAM Academy presents and Ji.hlava Academy) and various events, discussions and screenings, the participants met many of their peers and other film professionals, who enriched their film industry knowledge and experiences. During their studies, documentary film students rarely have a chance to meet on a professional level, which is important for their development and future careers. The participants themselves emphasizes the importance of connections, feedback and inspiration. DOC.STREAM Academy with Ji.hlava IDFF, being the largest documentary film festival in Central and Eastern Europe, provided all of that. Four main activities were fully delivered: (1) screenings of films by 5 Norwegian and 3 Czech students, (2) DSA participants attended screening of 4 selected films from FAMU, (3) of  lectures, talks, discussions and screenings and (4) matchmaking (DSA participants had a chance to set up a meeting with selected film experts).
