Summary of the results

The second part of the 2018 school exchange took place from 1st to 5th October 2018, when the Liechtenstein Gymnasium visited Vienna and the Czech Republic, after the first visit of Czech pupils to Liechtenstein (under the BI003 in September 2018). In Vienna, the participants visited the Liechtenstein Embassy in Vienna and the Garden Palais of the Princes of Liechtenstein. In the Czech Republic the students met their Czech counterparts. The program in the Czech Republic included school lessons, the visit of Lednice and Valtice castles, the city of Mikulov and the battlefield memorial of Slavkov. All these activities relate to the historic presents of the princess of Liechtenstein in Moravia. The participants got better knowledge of the common history of the Czech Republic and Liechtenstein. They got acquainted with the contemporary role of the House of Liechtenstein in central Europe. The perspectives of future cooperation between the two schools were discussed and agreed upon. The key purpose of the mutual visits was the establishment of personal contacts between the young people from both countries as well as the staff members and getting to know another culture.  Both participating schools – the Mathias Lerch Gymnasium, Brno and Liechteinsteinisches Landesgymnasium, Vaduz – fulfilled their role as hosts of the visiting side and also have enjoyed visits in the partner’s country.
