Description
NOMIA is a psychological counseling center for victims of violence. We also work with perpetrators of violence. We have been supported by the Ministry of Justice, the Interior and local government. We are in professional contact with the Norwegian organization ATV and cooperate with PMS and the prison service. We would like to establish further cooperation and gain new knowledge of good practice from colleagues from the prison environment in Norway in a form of an internship, focused especially on psychological care for perpetrators of violence and an organization of this work in Norway.
Summary of the results
the project met our expectations. The approach of all the Norwegian experts we met was very warm and professional, the cooperation was enriching. We discussed all the planned topics, especially the issues of the approaches used in the therapeutic interventions and their effectiveness. We shared the therapeutic methods we use and discussed the possibilities of implementing new aspects into our existing methodologies. We also opened new topics that we would like to work with in the future in our context, such as the topic of citizens'' trust in the state sphere. The sharing of experiences in non-profit organizations was also very beneficial and inspiring, especially the programs focused on sports and physical activities for clients with drug and criminal backgrounds we would like to implement in our therapeutic programs.
