Description

The project focuses on strengthening gender equality in Czechia. The goal of the study trip to Iceland, a country with excellent results in the field of women''s rights, is to gain knowledge and inspiration for the development of CWL as an umbrella organisation and our advocacy work. We''ll explore best practices and tools in the promotion of public gender equality policies, including transversal cooperation and methods of public activation. The output of the project is case study and recommendations, which CWL implements in its activities and will disseminate among its members and the public.

Summary of the results

In the framework of the project, we have established cooperation with renowned Icelandic organisations, which have provided us with valuable information and inspiration to improve our work. This collaboration has not only enriched our knowledge, but also strengthened our relationships, which will allow us to draw on further support and experience in the future.

The meeting with the Icelandic Women''s Rights Association (IWRA), which is similar to the Czech Women''s Lobby in its activities, was very beneficial. This cooperation helped us to better understand how we can expand our activities as an umbrella organisation and increase our influence on decision-making processes. Perhaps the most interesting aspect we took away from IWRA is the opportunity to strengthen the CHL by developing individual membership. The goal is to be able to mobilize women for social change, but also to strengthen fundraising.

We found it particularly beneficial to attend a conference organised by the Prime Minister''s office on the planned change in job classification. The conference showcased the state''s efforts to change the valuation of work, both symbolically and financially, by creating a new categorisation of assessment, which Iceland plans to implement. This change in qualification will have a significant impact on reducing the pay gap.

During the trip we also learned about innovative campaigns that we can adapt or be inspired by for our own communication activities.
