Citizens' philanthropy in Slovakia is still very low. One of the reasons is missing culture of giving and lack of ways of easy and quick money giving. Also, NGOs are not familiar with available tools and channels for receiving money. Therefore, the objective of the project is to improve money giving to NGOs in order to secure more efficient, independent and sustainable financing of NGOs. The outcomes of the project are set of online (internet) tools which make giving easier and set of mobile applications which involve public in public affairs. The outputs of the projects are three online pages/tools: darujme.sk ("let's give.sk") for direct giving, cloud CRM software for management of donors and DirectDebit for direct bank transfers. In addition, the ReStart camp for young programmers is organized with the goal to create a few mobile applications which allow public to participate in public affairs. Primary target group are NGOs, however project allows them to target on wide public.
Summary of project results
Citizens' philanthropy in Slovakia is still very low. One of the reasons is missing culture of giving and lack of ways of easy and quick money giving. Also, NGOs are not familiar with available tools and channels for receiving money. Therefore, the objective of the project was to improve money giving to NGOs in order to secure more efficient, independent and sustainable financing of NGOs. The main outcome of the project is successful implementation of online tools for easy money giving which is now widely accepted and widely impacted NGO fundraising of Slovak NGOs. In addition, some more outcomes were delivered: tools for donors management system, several online applications developed to suppress hate speech, racism etc. as well as some organisations got special technical assistance in their fund-rasing and online marketing. The project objectives were accomplished what is shown in the project output: the Darujme.sk page delivered almost 300.000 € collected (via over 14.000 donations from over 6.000 persons) to 114 organisations; 31 organisations started to use special adjusted CRM system for donors' management, several new web/mobile applications developed for various activities of NGO, e.g. support to the sexual violence victims, assistance to young people in their crisis, assistence of young unemployed people in seeking for jobs, watch-dog of politicians, etc. Beneficiaries were mostly NGOs in Slovakia. They were allowed to launch dedicated subpage "Darujme" ("Let's Giving") and got also training how to use and manage it. In addition some organisations were involved in development and launch of specially designed CRM system to manage their donors easily. Another way of involving of beneficiaries was participation in contest "NGOs were provided with software programmers support to develop applications for their work.
