Description

The aim of the project is the renovation of the State Theater Košice in order to improve its premises where various cultural activities take place. The location of the State Theater Košice in the middle of Košice region is beneficial to the touristic infrastructure. As a member of various networks of tourism and promotion of the region it contributes to more suitable conditions for the visitors, artists and it connects the project to tourism supporting activities. Without the renovation, the cultural activities would not be possible in the desired scope. The key area of renovation is the roof reconstruction: defects in the roof need to be addressed to safeguard the rest of the building and protect it from further deterioration. Restoration of the buildings interior is also carried out (e.g. plastering, change/renovation of windows, renovation of original doors and related parts). Within the project activities are also planned to attract cultural tourism, to raise awareness about cultural heritage and cultural diversity.

Summary of project results

Without the renovation, the cultural activities would not be possible in the expected scope. The key activities of the project were the renovation and recontraction of the the roof : 1174m2 of the roof surface was reconstructed and the defects in the roof have been removed to safeguard the rest of the building and protect it from further deterioration. Restoration of the buildings interior was also carried out (e.g. plastering, change/renovation of windows, renovation of original doors and related parts). Surface of 475m2 of facades was restored. 67 windows have been changed and 4 windows have been renovated, 30 doors have been renovated.
