Description

The project’s objective is to develop a model of green economy for the business activity of the foundation, both in terms of the green management (implementation of ISO 140001) and of the green production (refurbishment of the production space, recycling waste for producing a model of handbags). The social services of “Speranta” Foundation are mostly centered on offering social services to people with handicap through its Center for Integration and Occupational Therapy (C.I.T.O.). The center’s purpose is to increase the degree of socio-professional integration and enablement for independent living of people with disabilities in the city of Tirgu Neamt and neighboring municipalities.

Summary of project results

The objective was to create and implement a green process management and green products within the activities of social economy of the applicant, with a focus on the responsible consumption of energy and material resources, utilization of renewable sources of energy and the reuse of waste. The following results have been achieved by the end of project implementation: 1. Increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of the services and products provided through the social economy activities of the the applicant, as a result of environmental investment, facility production investment and obtaining ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety); 2. Reducing the consumption of energetic resources and the environmental impact of the production and services by increasing the energy efficiency of the building and using renewable energy; 3. To develop and diversify the product range of protect unit activity through the refurbishment of the textile workshop with specific equipment and realization of new products (green) made from textile waste materials and from other environmental friendly materials; 4. Reducing the environmental impact of other industries from this area by re-using their waste materials in our green production; 5. Creating 3 new green jobs in the business activity developed by the project; 6. Promoting the green business model of applicant in order to secure sustainable development of its production.
