Description

The mobility project proposed by the Technical University of Cluj Napoca (comprising also the North Centre in Baia Mare) with Universities from Norway, within the EEA/Norway financial machanism, is designed as an extension for the inter-institutional cooperation in higher education between our University and European institutions. This is foreseen as an opportunity to improve cooperation with nordic countries, less covered by usual (Erasmus) exchanges. As part of our internationalization strategy the project will enhance mobility exchanges (in both ways) for students and all types of staff, with Norwegian Universities, in areas covering different engineering fields (engineering and engineering trades, information and communication technologies, etc.).The signed agreements stipulate exchanges for students, for studies/placements, and also for teaching staff or training for academic / non-academic staff. All types of mobility schemes are bilateral, in most cases the number of incoming and outgoing participants being foreseen as equal. As a result of these visits, an increased number of students will study for one or two semesters in Norwegian Universities, or will benefit from internships in research laboratories or companies. Also the academic cooperation will improve the content of the taught curricula and will make them closer. The training mobility for non-academic staff will be a good opportunity for exchanging good practices and maybe will simplify the administrative bureaucracy. For institutions from the donor country (Norway) the advantage will be in discovering good practice cases, finding outstanding quality to some students they may hire for further levels of study or joint research projects (example would be research in green energy, population aging issues, where there is already coopration). The possibility of our University to offer language courses will be also an advantage, the incoming students finding more also on Romanian language and culture.
