Description

Gabriel Popescu (1866 - 1937) is one of the most acclaimed engraver artists, follower of Theodor Aman and Nicolae Grigorescu. The building which hosts the museum is situated in Gura Vulcănii village, the artist’s birthplace. The project aims to conserve, protect and enhance the historic monument "Gabriel Popescu Artist’s House Workshop", which is an integral part of the architectural heritage in Dambovita County. It establishes a touristic route of the heritage buildings in Dambovita County focusing on the architectural style and its evolution during the time. The restoration and rehabilitation of House Workshop will make possible to re-include this heritage site in the National and International Museum circuit. Through the safeguarding of this heritage it is expected that the number of tourists in Dambovita County and South Muntenia Region will increase.
