Description

The general objective of the project is consolidation of the cultural identity of ethnical minorities, and the development of communities through revitalising traditional arts and crafts. The specific objectives of the project are the safeguarding of some intangible components of the cultural inheritance of the community of Covasna County, using digitising methods and creating a database which enables public access to all information related to these values and the promoting of traditional arts and crafts characteristic for this region, through documentaries and through developing material which is made available to tourists, including schemes within which tourists may meet local craftsmen and may admire and purchase folk art products. The target audiences of the project are: 250 folk artists from Covasna County from 36 fields of traditional folk art, no matter which ethnic group they come from, 1000 youth from high schools from Covasna County, who will be direct beneficiaries of the project by being informed personally about their cultural inheritance through assisted projection of 10 documentaries.

Summary of project results

The general objective of the project was achieved and it referred to the consolidation of the cultural identity of ethnical minorities, and the development of communities through revitalising traditional arts and crafts. The specific objectives of the project consisted in safeguarding some intangible components of the cultural inheritance of the community of Covasna County, using digitising methods and creating a database which enables public access to all information related to these values. The project outputs include: 10 documentaries about folk crafts, 26 public projections for more than 1000 viewers, 1 digitized database and virtual map of the folk art of the county, with 250 craftsmen, 270 documentations on objects and folk crafts, 3 workshops and 1 marketing strategy.
