Description

The project refers to the intangible heritage of the Roma population living in the Hunedoara area, more than 6000 people, living here for centuries and developed their own extremely valuable folklore resources. The extensive inventory of this cultural heritage and people's access to it will bring significant benefits for social cohesion, integration, tolerance, but also export of cultural resources in Romania and abroad. The project objectives refer to: the inventory of the Roma intangible heritage of Hunedoara, a minimum 5000 items will be put in the inventory over a period of six months, thematic exhibitions (2 months) and a series of events related to Roma at Corvin Castle will raise awareness about the Roma situation. Fjellugla Kompetanse Norway is involved as a partner in this project providing scope for strengthened bilateral relations between Romania and Norway through exchanges of best practices in the field of public communication.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to create an inventory of the cultural heritage of Roma population living in the Hunedoara area, more than 6000 people. The following deliverables were produced durring the project: • an interdisciplinary intangible heritage research methodology • field research of Roma community in Hunedoara microregion • more then 5000 intangible items collected during field research • 5 thematic events and 1 temporary exhibition (10 panels) regarding Roma heritage • one inventory of intangible heritage of Roma community in Hunedoara microregion

Summary of bilateral results

The donor project partner contributed to the development of the intangible heritage research methodology but did not fulfill all the obligations presented in the partnership agreement. One of the project indicators related to the promotion of the project in Norway was not implemented due to poor communication between project partners.
