Description

The main goal of the project is the efficient protection of the victims of gender-based violence, subjected to multiple discrimination by improving the actions of specialists who offer direct services to these people and, also, of governmental institutions, NGOs and of the general public from the Moldova region (Iasi, Vaslui, Botosani, Suceava, Bacau, Neamt, Focsani and Galati counties), in the problem of multiple discrimination by including perspectives of gender, ethnicity, age and disability in the anti-discrimination politics applied at an institutional level. The main activities are: elaboration of materials and studies, campaigns and promoting events for the project in Iasi and the counties in the Moldova region, promoting events, promoting studies, including a good practices manual, training sessions for professionals. The project beneficiaries are: 300 specialists, 80 people victims of gender based violence, 40 children whose mothers are directly involved in domestic violence. Donor partner in this project is Hedda Foundation, involved in development of a Workshop of good practices of Donor States representatives promoting different good practices regarding assistance of victims in Norway. Also the partner was involved in organizing two Norway study Visits (one of project promoter and one of project partner from Romania) for making a comparative analysis and elaboration regarding intervention of cases in multidisciplinary team. The partnership between the three organizations - Hedda Foundation, Institute for Forensic Medicine Iasi and Community Safety and Mediation Center from Iași is aimed to identify new ways of working with vulnerable victims which can be used in Romania impacting people at risk and disadvantaged communities (rural, high poverty, excluded or minority groups) and also includes study visits at Hedda Foundation and other partner NGOs and institutions in Oslo.

Summary of project results

The project was implemented in Iasi County and had as main goal to improe the actions of specialists who offer direct services to victims of gender-based violence and to offer information about the subject to NGOs and to the general public from the Moldova region (Iasi, Vaslui, Botosani, Suceava, Bacau, Neamt, Focsani and Galati counties), in the problem of multiple discrimination. The main activities were: elaboration of materials and studies, campaigns and promoting events for the project in Iasi and the counties in the Moldova region, promoting events, studies, including a good practices manual, training sessions for professionals. A number of 80 specialists (lawyers, doctors and psychologists) participated to dedicated training in the field of preventing domestic violence. A number of 45 people victims of gender based violence, 42 children whose mothers are directly involved in domestic violence and 28 young people received assistance exercisers and counselling. The promoter received additional funds through PLUS and selected as donor partner in this project Hedda Foundation, involved in development of a Workshop of good practices and elaboration of a manual of good practices regarding assistance of victims in Norway. Also the partner was involved in organizing two Norway study Visits (one of project promoter and one of project partner from Romania) for making a comparative analysis and elaboration regarding intervention of cases in multidisciplinary team. The partnership between the three organizations - Hedda Foundation, Institute for Forensic Medicine Iasi and Community Safety and Mediation Center from Iași aimed to identify new ways of working with vulnerable victims which can be used in Romania impacting people at risk and disadvantaged communities (rural, high poverty, excluded or minority groups) and also includes study visits at Hedda Foundation and other partner NGOs and institutions in Oslo. The promoter coordinated and extended awarness campaing in the county and the impact was positive at level of general public. The project achieved all the indicators.
