Description

Malureni Commune has a total of 4835 inhabitants, of which 386 are of Roma origin. Many of the inhabitants, particularly Roma youth and children are at high risk of social exclusion. The project intends to reduce social inequalities among Roma youth and children through integrated measures aiming at development of cognitive and sociocultural skills, and adopting a healthy lifestyle.In addition, the project will create conditions for reducing the school drop-out rate; improve access and participation of children in school and pre-school formal and informal education and promote the importance of education and integration. In order to achieve this objective, the project will establish a multifunctional center for children and youth at risk and their parents, where 180 children and youth along with 150 parents will be involved in integrated and innovative social services: After-school, kids-club, counseling and psychological evaluation, mediation and social integration, etc.
