Description

Project description: Main activity of Marko-Kolor is dyeing, printing and finishing services of knitted and woven fabrics. The aim of project supported by GII programme is to replace several pieces of obsolete equipment with new machines: more energy efficient, allow for recovery of heat and technical water, minimize clean water intake, and substantially decrease the use of electricity and LNG as a fuel. The local challenges will be addressed by introducing the system of re-using water and heat recovery. Project objectives: • Introduction of the technology of production sewage treatment from the printing house (knitted and fabrics) and re-use of water (treated wastewater) for the process purposes of the printing house • Introduction of the technology of waste heat recovery and energy savings to the production cycle • Limit the production of sewage and hazardous gas, but also water usage, energy and chemical agents consumption Outcome indicators: • Number of environmental technologies successfully applied for use in new areas - 5 • Green jobs created – 4 new green jobs • Reduction in CO2 emissions – 191,5 tones/ year

Summary of project results

The objective of the project was to replace several pieces of obsolete equipment with new machines: more energy efficient, enabling recovery of heat and process water, minimizing clean water intake and reducing electricity and gas consumption. Moreover, a system for reuse of water and heat recovery was implemented. Realisation of this project brought not only a reduction of CO2 (192 tons per year in total being a result of reduced gas burning level.) but also a NOx reduction (0,2 Mg per year).
