Description
Project description: Galwa-kor offers services of applying electroplate coatings (anti-corrosion). The main objective of the project is to implement an innovative and environmentally friendly production in the “barrel line”, adjusted to make galvanic zinc-nickel coatings. Technology has been developed during Galwa-kor’s R&D works. Project incorporates technology which is not yet available on Polish market. The products delivered with this new technology will give better anti-corrosion protection at lower cost to the customers Project objectives: • Market implementation of environmental-friendly technology and its application within the new area • New green service and product will be offered in the market Outcome indicators: • Number of environmental technologies successfully applied for use in new areas - 1 • Green jobs created – 2 new green jobs • Reduction in CO2 emissions – 72 tons/ year • Reduction of heavy metals emission (zinc) - 11 tons/year • Reduction of electricity consumption - 86 MWh/ year
Summary of project results
The project involved implementation of an innovative and environmental friendly barrel line for zinc-nickel coating, and installation of new equipment in the waste water pre-treatment plant. This technology adjusted to make galvanic zinc nickel coatings, developed by Galwa-kor is an innovation on country level. Its application will ensure better anti-corrosion protection and contribute to reduction of costs. Barrel line implementation will result in reduction of zinc by around 30%. Expected reduction of CO2 emission is 72 tons per year, SO2 emission will decrease 0,1 Mg/ year and NOx 0,1 Mg/ year. New technology will also influence on energy saving in the new production process.
