Description

Project consists of 4 specialist trainings concerning exchange of criminal information in the framework of the SIS II system, trafficking in human beings and validation of research methods, statistical tools, quality control and securing digital traces. These activities will enhance efficiency and improve skills of officers from Łódź garrison in the scope of broadly understood Schengen legal achievements, focusing especially on the functioning of SIS II system for combating cross-border and organised crime. The training will be attended by 320 officers and lawyers from the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Łódź, subordinate units and Border Guard officers. Police and Border Guard officers will be acquainted with theoretical and practical Europol operational capacities, moreover the project participants will exchange information, experience and work standards.

Summary of project results

The core objective of the project was to strengthen cooperation in Schengen Zone and enhance the efficiency of the Police activities concerning fighting against cross-border and organized crimes, including trafficking in human beings and the migration of criminal groups. By scheduled actions like professional trainings, case studies and study visits in Europol, beneficiary affected many areas and direct goals: - Improving and developing officers abilities on Schengen acquis communautaire, especially SIS II system and counteracting cross-border and organized crimes, - Enhancing the qualifications of criminal techniques concerning biological and chemical track securing around the crime scene as well as digital and photo evidence; - Enhancing the efficiency of bio-chemical and digital tests in Forensic Laboratory of Regional Police Headquarters in Łódź; - Strengthening of the cooperation in Schengen Zone among institutions responsible for fighting against cross-border and organized crimes including trafficking in human beings; - Developing of police structures to better the implementation of Schengen acquis communautaire; - Enhancing the abilities of the police structures in preventing and counteracting cross-border and organized crimes with use of SIS II as a main tool of criminal information exchange. Within the framework of the project, several activities have been prepared: - 4 training series on: a. Validation of research methods, laboratory statistic tools, quality management; b. Securing digital tracks of the crime scene and the use of graphic programs; c. Securing digital tracks of the crime scene; d. International exchange of criminal data. - Study visits in Europol and Embassy of the Republic of Poland in The Hague; - Trainings for the Police and Border Guards officers from Łódź – 316 participants; - Initial and final conference of the project.
