Description

The purpose of the project is to improve the competence level of police officers and employees and increase their work effectiveness in preventing and combating cross-border and organised crime, including trafficking in human beings, fight against itinerant criminal groups and providing assistance to victims of these crimes, which leads to an overall improvement of security in the EU. To achieve this objective, the project provides for the organization of postgraduate studies in the field of criminological aspects of migration processes in the Schengen area as well as specialised courses in combating and preventing cross-border crime in the Schengen area. Project actions will increase security through more effective detection, prevention and combating of migration crime and increased public awareness in this respect.

Summary of project results

Increasing the Police skills in preventing and fighting against cross border and organized crime including trafficking in human beings and itinerant criminal groups. As a result of the project, growth in the level of officers and employees of the police competences has been developed and the boost in the efficiency of actions concerning preventing and fighting against cross border and organized crime, including trafficking in human beings and itinerant criminal groups and the help offered to those crimes victims. On-going reduction and extirpation of this problem across Europe generate the need of high-level professionalization of the Police by the constant vocational trainings. The project has been preceded by the analysis of needs and potential benefits striving for the development of the Police abilities in areas mentioned above. To achieve those goals, postgraduate studies concerning criminological aspects of migration processes in Schengen zone and special courses concerning preventing and fighting against cross border crimes in Schengen zone have been organized. The project had 360 participants from Warsaw and Mazovian Voivodship. The initial and final conference have been organized. 3 special courses an 2 kinds of postgraduate studies for 360 police officers and emploees have been prepared.
