Within the project measures for prevention of social inequalities in public health will be implemented in the Nidzica County, where the mortality rate due to respiratory diseases is highest in the country. The project aims to implement an awareness raising campaign to inform on the main types of respiratory diseases, risk factors and solutions for reduction of this phenomenon. An educational programme will be implemented during the project period and after project completion.Moreover, preventive screening (spirometric tests, X-ray, allergy tests) and vaccination against pneumococcal diseases for the defined group of inhabitants will be carried out.The target group for the project are children under 9 years of age and persons over 60 years of age.The main long-term objective of the project is to reduce morbidity caused by respiratory diseases.
Summary of project results
PL13-0042 project was implemented by Poviat Nidzica from September 2015 till April 2017. Total eligible project cost amounted to 1 555 604,83 PLN. NFM grant amounted to 1 322 264,11 PLN. The objective of the project was prevention incidence of respiratory disease through: complex examination, pneumococcal vaccination, active events promoting healthy lifestyle. The project was implemented successfully – all project results and indicators are achieved, some are even exceeded. Main target groups: 1) Citizens of Nidzica Poviat including children from 1 year old, young people and adults over 18 years old, 2) Medical Staff Activities implemented within the project: - Examinations and pneumococcal vaccination, - Realization of medical Staff trainings and courses - Carried out 6 actions and promotional events. Main products of the project: - 4880 examinations carried out - 2331 pneumococcal vaccinations made - 6 promotional actions and events - 2117 people have taken part in actions and promotional events - 5712 people have taken part in examinations and vaccinations - 3 spirometers, 1400 disposable turbines, 1 refrigerator for vaccines have been bought - 3 specialized courses were carried for medical Staff - 29 training courses for Nidzica Poviat citizens were held - 902 inhabitants were trained - 1 Health Picnic has been organized - 3 educational programmes in schools - 4 kinds of sports activities for inhabitants were organized - 18 educational aids were bought to promote health - 4 bicycle rental places were created equipped with 60 bikes, 4 seats, 60 locks and 6 bike stands - 4 multifunctional processors were bought - 1 website was created - 1 promotional film was made - elaborated final report from implementing the project The project was implemented without partner.
