Summary of project results

The need for the implementation of the project "Lightbridge Torun Slemmestad" was grounded in the problems of both the leader and the partners of the project. The purpose of Torun Cultural Agency, organizing the International Light Festival Bella Skyway Festival was to present multimedia projections and light installations designed by wellknown artists from all around the world. So far during The International LightFestival performed artists from France, Germany,Portugal, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Ireland and Belgium. Visitors of the festival haven't got the opportunity to see the works of Norwegiand artists. Thanks to the project wide festival audience  has the opportunity to see the achievements ofartist acclaimed in Norway specializing in projections of 3D mapping technique.   The project was a part of the Torun Development Strategy. Operational aim no. 4.2: "strengthening  and expanding the cultural offer" of the city assumes that international events should be developed and one of the priority directions listed in the strategy is the direction: "Torun   the city of culture".   At the same time the project "Lightbridge TorunSlemmestad" was extremely important from the  point of view of the project partners involved in the revitalization of Slemmestad. The use of the cement factory and other unusual buildings for artistic purposes would help to  change the city's image and stimulate its further development as a cultural center of the region. The project was a part of the "Creative Slemmestad" assuming the change of the city from industrial city to the city of culture  a good place for the development of creative industries.

Summary of bilateral results

The main objective of the project was the development of intercultural dialogue and understanding of cultural diversity.  The cooperation between Polish and Norwegian artists at the projections  in Slemmestad and Torun provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices in the field of 3D mapping and will become a great foundation for the future cooperation.Sekkefabriken Kulturhus (partner leader) was responsible for supervising the implementation of the "Norwegian" part of the project: the projection using the 3D mapping technology in Slemmestad accompanied by a concert, students meeting in Drammen and exhibition summarizing the project, which was presented in Oslo, Drammen and Slemmestad.     Røyke Kommune participated in organizing project activities in Slemmestad and Buskerud  University College has indicated students who participated in workshop and presented their works  during Bella Skyway Festival in 2014.Through the variety of activities and  partners the project was  contributed to strengthening of bilateral cooperation in a multifaceted way.  The creation of the Polish  Norwegian projections dedicated to the history of Slemmestad and Torun not only allowed artists to  exchange experience and knowledge in the field of large multimedia projections but also contributed to the promotion of cultural diversity.  Other project activities as the organization of exhibitions illustrating the results of the projects as well as workshops was also contribute to strengthening the intercultural dialogue between Poland and Norway.
