Objectives will be achieved through the renovation of the theatre facilities, adaptation of a non-existent cinema lodge for theatre performances. Project considers also complete adaptation of the building for disabled spectators. Due to the modernization of the theatre facilities it will be possible to introduce a new cultural offer to the theatre’s programme (intimate music performances, performances for children , foreign language performances, artistic events accessible to people with disabilities). The main beneficiaries of the project will be Warsaw citizens and national and international tourists visiting Warsaw. The venue will be visited by more than 200 000 spectators per year.

Specific objectives of the project "From a ruined cinema to a modern live theatre – the renovation of former Bajka Cinema into Kwadrat Theatre in Warsaw" were: an increase of tourism and cultural attractiveness of the capital city and the country itself, an increase in accessibility to the cultural activities performed by the Kwadrat Theatre in Warsaw and the improvement of the general technical cultural infrastructure. The overall goal was to reduce economic and social disproportions within the EEA by the development of the cultural infrastructure with its significant impact potential on the socio-economic development, as well as by increasing the attractiveness of national cultural and tourism offer. Specific objectives mentioned above could be achieved through the renovation of the theatre facilities, adaptation of a non-existent cinema lodge for theatre performances and creating functional and flexible spatial frameworks for the professional activity of the Kwadrat Theatre. The reconstruction also allowed to create a small stage allowing to perform intimate artistic shows. Moreover the project considered complete adaptation of the building for disable spectators. Due to the modernization of the theatre facilities it was possible to introduce a new cultural offer to the theatre’s programme (intimate music performances, performances for children , foreign language performances, artistic events accessible to people with disabilities, concerts), as well as enhancing the quality of other services provided by the theatre (reducing a number of complaints regarding performance of air-conditioning system, low water permeability of the sewerage system, accessibility for the disabled). Described above components affect the development of the cultural and educational activities in the region and the country and increase its availability to public. Due to the introduction of new services by the Theatre Kwadrat directed to spectators with disabilities, local audience of different age, tourists/foreigners and institutional clients, the project contributes to social development.
