Description
The Kościerskie County set up the ‘Entrepreneurship in conjunction with energy efficiency and use of renewable energy’ partnership for socio-economic development of the area. The project will develop comprehensive technical documentation essential for the creation of seven economic activity areas for the service-industry and a tourist profile, including two areas focused on renewable energy. The implementation of the project will support the socio-economic recovery and development of the Kościerski area, in particular the improvement of the labour market situation.
Summary of project results
In order to solve the priority problem that occur within the area of the Partnership: entrepreneurship combined with energy efficiency and the deployment of renewable energy sources (RES), the Project covered activities such as the preparation of necessary strategic and operational documentation, feasibility studies, technical and cost estimate documentation for Kościerzyna Economic Activity Zones linked by transport infrastructure and supported by upper-secondary education adjusted to the labour market, which are to be ultimately created. Due to the long-term nature of the adopted general objective for the project, ie the socio-economic revival of the Kościuszko Functional Area, it cannot be clearly stated at the time of project completion that the overall (long-term) objective was reached at the end of the project. The activities undertaken within the project, ie the preparation of strategic, sectoral and executive documentation, the creation of the Economic Activity Zone, and the strengthening of the partnership, will lead in the future to create new businesses and at the same time create new jobs and thus achieve long-term socio-economic outcomes. At the day of project’s completion 7 Kościerzyna Economic Activity Zones were functioning which will lead to accomplishment of futher socio-economic revival of the Kościuszko Functional Area.The establishment of the KFA Partnership is a breakthrough for the cooperation between the local governments of Kościerzyn district, which have never undertaken joint activities performed in such a wide circle and to such a great extent. The implementation of the project influenced the development of the cooperation between the local governments of Kościerzyn district and social partners. After the conclusion of the project, the members of the partnership still cooperate with each other, performing various tasks in which individual interested partners get involved. Further activities of the Partnership cover the areas of economic activation and the joint development of the tourist potential. The working team's work on the development of the concept to obtain the status of a health resort or a health resort area for this land. It was possible to undertake this task, already outside the European Economic Area, as the partners have worked out cooperation methods and gained necessary trust. The common area for future cooperation includes the common promotion of created economic zones and the entire KFA (tourism, common tourist products, calendar of events).
