Description

Gdynia with its 250,000 inhabitants is an important seaport. Together with over 20 municipalities along the Baltic coast, the Gdynia Maritime University, business, tourist and nature conservation associations the town will develop strategies for the future development of the highly dynamic region. The wide ranging choice of partners and inclusion of business and NGO will ensure a wide ranging input. The partnership is also prepared in view of projects to be financed with EU funds.

Summary of project results

Implementation of NORDA project has strengthened the cooperation of North Pomerania self-governments in terms of making joint decisions and resolving relevant issues in this area and strengthening the partnership's ability to deliver integrated ventures.The overall purpose (long-term) of the Project, verified through the indicator: The ability of the partnership to implement integrated solutions to solve functional problems, was achieved and in the Beneficiary's belief largely due to the increase of competencies, knowledge and skills of the self-governments units’ employees forming the Partnership and increasing the level of mutual trust and understanding of the need for cooperation. Thanks to the NORDA – Northern Growth Pole Project partners were able to realize a number of actions to strengthen cooperation both among particular local government units and among representatives of local governments, representatives of civil society as well as business organizations, including elaboration of: Sustainable Development Strategy for Coastal Growth Area NORDA 2020 with a 2050-year perspective, Operational Programmes in the field of economic development, spatial development and land management as well as promotion of the functional sub-area CGA NORDA 2020 with a 2050-year perspective, Sustainable Development Strategy for the Logistic Valley functional sub-area 2020 with a 2050-year perspective, Operational Programmes for economic development, spatial development, land management and transport development of the Logistic Valley functional sub-area 2020 with a 2050-year perspective, Brand strategy and marketing communication plan of the Coastal Growth Area NORDA, The Norda Memorandum. Multi-industry concept was designed together with a feasibility study and environmental analysis for construction of the road connecting the seaport of Gdynia with the national road network. Databases of investment offers relating to land and real estate from the functional areas: Logistic Valley and Coastal Growth Area NORDA were also created. Completion of the project does not mean termination of cooperation between partners - through deepening mutual trust and the established inter-communal and inter-sectoral cooperation network, the mechanisms for exchanging knowledge and experience will be effective, synergistic and co-ordinated in addressing cross-border issues. individual municipalities.
