Description

The town of Piaski in partnership with 10 municipalities will create the ‘Jan II Sobieski Route’ with possibilities for tourist and investment development. Target groups of this project are 11 municipalities and their inhabitants in the Lubelskie Voivodship. The long term aim of the project is to prepare for 11 key investments during the new financial perspective of the EU. The project will include public consultations with inhabitants and NGOs.

Summary of project results

The main objective of the PL06 Program is to achieve greater social and economic cohesion at national, regional and local level by developing mechanisms for effective co-operation among Local government units, which was achieved in the project PL06-30. The assumptions of the partners who joined was to indicate the key areas of development of the functional area of Route Jan III Sobieski , related infrastructure and to formulate future goals for the area and partners cooperation. The positive result of the project is the sustainable institutionalization of the partnership. The Association was established by 11 partners and is located in Piaski. There will be continuation of ideas created during the project within the Association. Partnership undertook as the goal: improvement of cohesion of Functional Area of the JIIIS Trail by support for functional solutions in terms of: tourism, processing and energy. During the implementation of the project, participatory actions were organized - a series of meetings with representatives of local communities took place. They were working in 6 working groups, which included representatives of municipalities and industry experts. The effects of participation were reflected in the Integrated Development Strategy of Jan III Sobieski and three Operational Plans for cohesion in the fields of processing, tourism and energy. Some of the ideas from strategy/ Operational Plans were reflected in the 11 investment documents. Other initiatives are being implemented or prepared for functional area within the emerging funding sources (i.a. Structural Funds). The project allowed for wide promotion of the JIIIS Trail. It became recognizable not only in the area of 4 counties, but also in Lublin province. Through the activities of the Association of Polish Cities and the Ministry of Development, JIIIS functional area had a chance to present themselves among other projects at national meetings and in Norway. The project has allowed a number of good practices during the study visits to Norway and, through meetings, to share experiences with representatives of other beneficiaries. Assumed values for goal, result and product indicators have been reached.
