Description
The current project is a continuation of the thermo-modernization that took place at the hospital in 2007, which was limited to the thermal insulation of external walls and the replacement of ordinary windows for PVC windows. The project anticipates the changing of the external door woodwork, the modernization of the central heating system, the installation of a hot water supply powered by solar panels with a total capacity of 144.4 kW, the modernization of the substation and the replacement of the old lighting system with energy-efficient LED lighting. These measures are foreseen to lower the hospital building’s annual energy consumption by 35% and reduce its annual CO2 emissions by 38%. The project will benefit both patients and staff at the hospital in Sokolow Podlaski by providing increased comfort and lower the maintenance costs of the building. In addition, the environment will benefit from the reduced emissions. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under EEA FM (acc. to art. 6.9)
Summary of project results
Projects implementation has contributed to improving of energy and economic efficiency in the hospital. Within the project 142 photovoltaic cells and 52 solar collectors have been installed. Old lighting system has been replaced for energy-efficient LED. Mounted was one energy transmission installation. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under EEA FM (acc. to art. 6.9). Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (672 Mg/year). Energy production from RES amounts 97 MWh/year. The Beneficiary emphasized that project benefit patients, staff at the hospital in Sokolow Podlaski and the environment.
