Description

This project is needed due to the poor state of public infrastructure in the commune. The poor condition of buildings and heating installations result in high operating costs and cause great environmental pollution. the commune Horyniec-Zdrój is a health resort and is dependent on taking care of it clean air in order to remain so. The objective of the project is to reduce greenhouse gases emission and air pollutants in the public utility building and move to the use of biomass boilers as sources of heat. The expected results of this are an increase in the energy efficiency of the commune's public buildings, a reduction of operating costs for commune buildings, an improved environment, the improvement of the technical condition of commune buildings, and an increase in the use of renewable energy sources. The activities to be carried out in the project follow methods that have proved to achieve the desired effect at a reasonable cost-benefit ratio in the past. The beneficiaries of the project will be the commune of Horyniec-Zdroj and its residents as well as spa guests and other visitors to the area.

Summary of project results

This project was needed due to the poor condition of public infrastructure in the municipality. This resulted in high operating costs and cause huge environmental pollution. Horyniec-Zdrój Municipality is a health resort and is dependent on taking care of it clean air in order to remain so. The objective of the project was to reduce greenhouse gases emission and air pollution. Thermomodernisational works covered 4 public utility buildings (including 2 schools). Within the project over 2,4 thousands of partition were insulated, windows and doors and 3 heat sources were replaced. 3 interior installations were modernised and 4 solar collectors installed. Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (374 Mg/year). The beneficiaries of the project are the municipality of Horyniec-Zdroj and its residents as well as spa guests and other visitors to the area.
