Description

The purpose of the project is to increase social awareness as regards biodiversity and to educate people on these issues with reference to climatic changes and economic value of ecosystems.This objective shall be achieved through:conducting 225 educational workshops, establishing 22 Biodiversity Labs in primary schools;organising 2 competitions,addressed to school children and youth as well as teachers;developing mobile internet application. Implementation of the project shall contribute to achievement of the following effects: increased knowledge among children and youth about ways to protect the environment, developing skills that facilitate noticing phenomena taking place in ecosystems, expanding knowledge among children and youth as regards species diversity as well as living conditions of plants and animals and factors contributing to the loss of biodiversity.

Summary of project results

Project completed, the indicators have been achieved (they have even achieved higher results than expected in the plan of the project). The final report has been approved. Results of implementation of the entire project: Increasing environmental awareness and public awareness of biodiversity and the impact of climate change on ecosystems (Number of people who have participated in educational activities and promoting the conservation of biodiversity: 175 978); development of social attitudes and ecological behavior and increase public involvement in the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems. Within the project the following activities were implemented: organization of educational workshops (262) and conferences (3), seminars, competitions; publication of the website, educational publications; establishing biodiversity labs in 22 primary schools; organizing 2-day environmental workshops for children and young peoplein biodiversity, climate changes and importance of ecosystems; organizing 1-day workshops for pupils.
