Description

The level of awareness of biodiversity, especially in the most valuable natural areas, is not sufficient. Podkarpacie (Subcarpathia) is in third place in Poland in terms of the surface of protected areas (62%). There is a need to promote awareness of biodiversity, educate people on importance, and increase the general level of knowledge about biodiversity. The main objective of the project is to increase the capacity of the Association for the Promotion of Biodiversity and the awareness of biodiversity among the inhabitants of Podkarpacie. The project will contribute to changing the attitudes in society towards the need to protect the natural heritage of Podkarpacie and to increasing knowledge about its importance. Many diverse activities will help to achieve this goal, including the inventory of natural paths in Podkarpacie, the organization of trainings, seminars, workshops, competitions, and publication of red data book on plants in Podkarpacie, guidebooks on natural paths, 13 films and other promotional and educational activities. The community of Podkarpackie Voivodeship is expected to benefit from the project, as is the other people.

The overall objective of the project was to increase the ecological awareness of the inhabitants of the most valuable natural areas of Podkarpacie on the importance of biodiversity. The Podkarpacie region is an area of extraordinary natural potential.
