Description

The main problems: - Lack of attractive forms of promotion of environmental amenities, tourism and economic , - Low social awareness of the requirements of the protection of Natura 2000 sites, - Economic value of natural ecosystems are undervalued and disregarded in planning process, - Risks associated with anthropogenic land use and economic development. The objective of the project is increasing the public awareness of biodiversity and ecosystems, and economic value of South-Eastern Poland in particular in protected areas. Realization of the project will contribute both to raise awareness local community about the seriousness of the problem of biodiversity loss on the other hand indicates the chances of development of the region through sustainable, economic development based on the values of biodiversity and contribute to the promotion of biodiversity South-Eastern Poland in terms of tourist attractions. The benefit of the project (the target groups) are local government units, non-governmental organizations dealing with the protection of nature and ecology, the scientific community, mountain guides, foresters, enterprises in sectors related to natural resources and tourism, the community of South-Eastern Poland in particular Natura 2000 sites.

Summary of project results

The overall goal of the project has been achieved. All project indicators have been achieved. Objective of the project was achieved: 1) increase public awareness biodiversity and education in this field in relation to climate change and the economic value of ecosystems - 8 000 2) Increased potential for ecological non-governmental organizations promoting biodiversity (including projects under the Small Grants Fund) - 1 . The main activities of the project: - Conferences: Rzeszow: "Promotion of biodiversity as opportunity for the development of South-Eastern Poland", Sanok: “Possibility to use ​​ biodiversity values in South-Eastern Poland” and Zamosc: “Nature Tourism - opportunities and restrictions of economic exploitation of protected areas” ; - Workshops: Module 1 - Economical use of ecosystems and biodiversity.; Module 2 - Protection and sustainable use of biodiversity; Dukla, Puławy Górne, Ustrzyki Dolne, Horyniec, Zwierzyniec, Bolestraszyce; - Questy: Puławy Górne, Zwierzyniec; - Photo contests: “Biodiversity of South-Eastern Poland in photos”; - Publication: “Biodiversity of South- Eastern Poland”. Project implementation contributed to both to raise awareness local community about the seriousness of the problem of biodiversity loss on the other hand indicates the chances of development of the region through sustainable, economic development based on the values of biodiversity and contribute to the promotion of biodiversity South-Eastern Poland in terms of tourist attractions.
