Description

The realisation of this project will make recipients aware of how crucial biodiversity is, not only for nature itself but also from an economic and social point of view. The aim of the project is to transmit in an attractive way knowledge regarding biodiversity and the dangers related to the loss of biodiversity, as well as to encourage attitudes and choices in everyday life with the aim of slowing down the erosion of biodiversity. The result of the project is an increase in public awareness of biological diversity and public education in this area. The project will do this by organising conferences, seminars, workshops and, above all, by providing two educational studios, and creating a garden and educational paths. The beneficiairy of the project is society in general, on national, regional and local level, is expected to benefit from this project., but particularly children and the youth at primary schools, junior high schools, and secondary schools and students, as well as the inhabitants of area included in the project and their local government institutions.

Summary of project results

All activities planned within project have been implemented, the final report has been approved. The result of the project is an increase in public awareness of biological diversity and public education in this area (Number of people who have participated in educational activities and promoting the conservation of biodiversity: 381 916); development of social attitudes and ecological behavior and increase public involvement in the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems. Within the project the following activities were implemented: organising conferences, seminars, workshops, competitions, tours, open days, outdoor festivals; providing two educational studios and creating an educational garden and educational paths (8), publication of the website, guides, brochures and handouts.
