Description

The project addresses the decrease in biodiversity of the earth’s ecosystems. The development of modern agriculture techniques caused a big loss in the diversity of species, ecosystems and landscapes in rural areas. The objective of the project is to provide education on the importance and possibilities of sustainable use of biodiversity in rural areas in South-West Poland. The project is expected to raise awareness and knowledge in the rural communities on the importance of biodiversity and the possibilities of its sustainable use. This will be addressed through the modernization of the second building of the Sudetic Educational Farm in Dobków as a model example of renovation of old farm buildings, respecting the species that inhabit them, creating an educational garden, consisting of traditional varieties of vegetables, fruits, herbs and ornamental plants, and making them insect-friendly and interactive. The project will include a set of educational workshops, competitions, field trips and seminars that address a wide range of audiences in the rural areas. Inhabitants of the rural areas of the Kaczawskie Mountains Region will benefit from the project.
