Description

As a result of project, it is planned to commercialize polyols of tall oil and rapeseed oil. It is a unique product which is developed after several decades of research work. A product obtained is based mainly on renewable resources and offers an alternative for oil polyols. The commercial product created by realising this project has a high content of renewable resources (up to 74% of the product) and is produced in an environmentally friendly, rubbish-less process, as all substances used for its synthesis are present in the end product. The products of SIA "PolyLabs" will replace polyols, synthesised from oil products.

Summary of project results

Project aim for the enterprise Polylabs, SIA was to produce and to commercialize bio based polyol for the polyurethane industry. More specifically bio bolyols that are high quality bio based polyols synthesized using renewable materials such as rapeseed (conola) and tall oils. The best use for these polyols is for the production of rigid polyurethane foams for thermal insulation application. Within the project: 1) 22 ton pilot lot of the high quality bio polyol from renewable resources had been produced. The pilot lot had been experimentally tested by potential clients. It was an important step in order to research client specific needs and to receive feedback of the product. 2) Representative and marketing materials like brochures had been made about the new product and the company. 3) Company took participation in exhibition “PU Tech Eurasia 2015” in Turkey since it was an important step in order to expand in the Middle Easts’ market. Within the exhibition had been developed new business contacts and got a necessary overview of the market. 4) Two new work places had been made under the Project. Therefore Project had been implemented fully and project aims had been achieved.
