The aim of project is to provide support for children, young people and their parents by implementing innovative interdisciplinary program of support measures for improvement of mental and physical health and reducing social exclusion risks in municipality Lubāna. The project activities include consultations of psychologist/psychotherapist, lessons promoting a healthy lifestyle among, self-expression-art lessons, lecture/practice cycle for parents "Children's emotional education", a sports day, summer camp "Life in the countryside is wonderful!" as well as promotion of voluntary work. The target group is families with children.
Summary of project results
Until now in municipality Lubāna there were not enough social rehabilitation services for the less protected groups of inhabitants- poor families and families with low incomes, young parents, young people, families with disabled children or parents. Aim of the project: to maintain support for children, young people and their parents by Introduction of innovative interdisciplinary support programs to improve mental and physical health and reduce the risk of social exclusion for young people in municipality Lubāna, was implemented for 100%. In the project activities were involved 65 instead of 60 families from municipality Lubāna. In the framework of the project the following equipment was purchased for more successful process of project- dishes for feeding participants, conference tables, chairs, shelves, sets of gymnastic tools. In the Project activities were involved the following groups of people:poor families and families with low incomes with children, social risk families,young people who don’t study and work, young people with behaviour problems,families with disabled or mentally handicapped children or parents,tutor or foster families,young families. Development of social services after the project is based on the work started during the project. In the premises of NGO „Meirānieši” is created a Daily centre for families with children, where the Project activities were held, and after the implementation of Project this work is done by members of NGO „Meirānieši” and the Social service of Municipality Lubāna in collaboration with Lubāna department of NGO, using the voluntary work. A professional who got a certificate during the Project continues to lead theoretical and practical classes to parents about children’s emotional education. As a result of Project is continuing to work a Daily centre for families with children in municipality Lubāna.
