Description

The aim of the project is implementation of the Strategy 2013–2015 of the Association "Latvian Rural Forum”, improving culture of participatory democracy in rural areas of Latvia. The project will focus on culture of participatory democracy in rural regions of Latvia implementing resolution of the 1st Latvian Rural Communities Parliament and ensuring inclusion of the Latvian Rural Communities Parliament in the content framework of Latvia’s presidency of the EU Council, on expansion and strengthening of cooperation network of rural communities by promoting involvement of rural inhabitants in civil society and promoting their participation in elaboration of action policy and decisions-making processes. Good practice of sustainable elements will be disseminated and methodological support will be provided to local community initiatives and rural community resources will be identified. The target group: NGO’s members, employees, volunteers.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project:implementation of the Strategy 2013–2015 of the Association "Latvian Rural Forum” (LRF),improving culture of participatory democracy in rural areas of Latvia. The place of implementation of the project:Latvia The results of the project: A report on the fulfilment of the resolution of The First Latvian Rural Communities Parliament during the time period 2013-2015 has been elaborated; 1 session and 1 half-session of The First Latvian Rural Communities Parliament have taken place; LRF is active in 4 cooperative networks,platforms; LRF is active in 5 different councils and work groups that are significant for rural development; LRF is active in 4 international cooperative networks; At least 2 different funding sources have been identified and are accessible for the provision of the run of The Second Latvian Rural Communities Parliament and the implementation of the strategy; LRF data basis of contacts have more than 500 representatives from the local rural development associations; 2 resource maps of the communities have been elaborated; 6 monthly informative leaflets about LRF have been elaborated and distributed; LRF has taken part in the organization of an international event on questions of the inner and the outer dimensions of development on an international level; A 3 day long Second Latvian Rural Communities Parliament with 260 participants has taken place; 1 training program for the leaders, animators and development promoters of the communities has been elaborated; 1 training for the increase of the capacity of the communities has taken place; LRF is maintaining their pages in social networks with at least 460 followers on facebook.com, 370 followers on draugiem.lv and 1000 followers on twitter.com. The target group of the project:132 non-governmental organizations (260 persons),NGO members–70 members,3 employees,9 volunteers,83 inhabitants of the venue of The Second Latvian Rural Communities Parliament.
