Description
The objective of the project is to strengthen the competences of the employees of the police, municipality, and educational institutions and strengthening of the competencies of employees in the area of narcotic drugs prevention. After project implementation, police officers, workers of municipality and education institutions will be theoretically and practically prepared to implement common drugs prevention means. The abilities of workers will strengthen and cooperation with police and municipality will improve, moreover contribution of pupils’ parents to addiction will grow. Children who started using drugs will be identified in the previous stage and this will help to achieve better result in the fight with the addition to the drugs.
Summary of project results
In recent years, activating the fight against illegal circulation of psychoactive substances in Plungė district, an increasing number of persons who use drugs and engage in illicit trafficking of it were identified. Particularly worrying fact was the young age of these people. Before the implementation of the project, the cooperation in drug use prevention process with municipalities and police institutions was not intensive enough. The aim of the project was to render knowledge and efficient experience of the Kingdom of Norway to the state and municipality institutions and offices of the Republic of Lithuania. Moreover, while implementing drugs use prevention strengthen abilities and cooperation between the partners in the Republic of Lithuania and in the Kingdom of Norway. After shared experience with partners from Bjerkreim municipality, trainings to the employees of police, municipality and education institutions, concerning the danger of drugs material use were organized. Workers of education institutions and parents were taught to recognize persons which use drugs and how behave if suspected that person uses or circulates drugs and psychotropic materials. During the implementation of the project cooperation between different institutions in field of drug use prevention increased and more than 600 person participated in trainings. It is expected that after the trainings children who started using drugs will be identified in the previous stage and this will help to achieve better result in the fight with the addition to the drugs.
Summary of bilateral results
Project partner participated in implementation of the Project: shared it;s experience in filed of drug use prevention, consultatyed Project promoter in preparation of the training programe. Project partner organised study visit for representatives of Project promoter in Norway. Also, specialists from Norway participated in few seminars organized in Lithuania for target Group members, shared their experience and good practice.
