Description

The aim of the project is to improve vocational training and student achievement in modernizing and improving the curriculum of vocational teacher qualification. The foreseen project activities, during which the applicant and Lithuanian partners increase their competencies of modernization of vocational education, increase internationalization, taking over the best Norwegian experience in the field of creation and rendering competencies of general education training modules relevant for the labour market. During the project 3 career teacher exchange visits, 2 international educational seminars will be organized, modernized VET curriculum by developing and testing 3 general competency-training modules (Communicating with Customers, Conflict Resolution Module; Entrepreneurship, Services Sales Module; Financial Literacy Module) in the applicant and the Lithuanian partner institutions. The project's target group is the applicant and partners, teachers and staff, students, other professional training bodies.

Summary of project results

Despite the favourable EU and Lithuanian legal framework, there was lack of attention for the renewal of vocational and continuous vocational training programs in the country. The modernization of vocational programs would allow to prepare specialists who are more responsive to the needs of labour market. Until now, the problem of attractiveness of vocational training was attempted to solve by investing in vocational training infrastructure, but the soft part – content of education, teaching methods and tools got very patchy attention and investments were very limited. The aim of the project was to improve students achievements by modernizing content of training and raising the qualification of vocational teachers. During the implementation of Project there were organized 3 exchange visits of vocational teachers, 2 International educational seminars, also the content of training was modernized and 3 trainings of general competences modules were created and tested. The target Group of the Project was teachers, employees and students of Project promoter and Project partner. The created modules could be used by other vocational training centres and schools in Lithuania.

Summary of bilateral results

Regarding the modernization of education content, what was possible due to close cooperation with the Norwegian partner, the attractiveness of Project promoter and Project partners institutions , increased. The established bilateral relations between Norwegian and Lithuanian partners enabled the creation of long term perspectives for modernization and improvement of vocational education.
