Description

The aim of the project is to extend the already existing successful cooperation in the field of mobility between our university and the partner Norwegian and Icelandic universities. Hence we provide various possibilities for mobility from the donor countries. We would like to organise student exchange in the following main study programs: Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business and Marketing, which equips the participating students with an international perspective in their study field. Exchange of teachers would provide an opportunity for non-mobile students to taste a bit of international experience in their home universities. The successful cooperation of teachers might imply compatible curricula, an ideal ground for a possible common project in the future. The exchange of lecturers could enable the exploration of common research’s topics too. Óbuda University organises each year several international scientific conferences (i.e. IEEE), and business related too, to which we would welcome the representatives of the donor countries. Last but not least we organise thematic international weeks whereas guest students are welcome. We believe that the applied mobility forms benefit everybody. The students gain deeper knowledge, better skills and competencies, hence an increased chance on the labour market. The teachers could share expertise and join forces on international research topics and also the staff could have an international outlook owing to job shadowing.

Summary of project results

The intend to develop and broaden the present partner relationships, to support the international experience exchange of each academic citizen (teachers, academic staff, students) is still relevant in the case of every mobility project of Óbuda University. It is a significant strategic goal to find the best international practice, to compare to the our practice and to adapt them in the fields of education and research. For this purpose, the current Norwegian and Icelandic university relationships have provided outstanding partnerships, beside, the mobility opportunities of the project assured much wider scope for the students by the summer universities and for the teachers by the conferences, workshops and seminars. The acceptance of the main documents of the project was sent to the University at the end of May 2017, therefore there was a short time left for the implementation of the previously targeted and won headcounts and mobilities. The deadline, 30 April 2017 shortened the opportunities mainly in the field of the student mobilities. To reach the target of the project, beside the information uploaded to the institution’s website, we demonstrated the EAA opportunities at coordinator meetings, faculty meetings and also on institutional information days. Beside the leaflets provided by the National Office, we ensured the information flow by the help of further homemade flyers as well. The implemented mobilities of the project has outstanding results rather regarding the quality than the quantity. During of the project one outgoing student mobility for studies and one outgoing student mobility for traineeship was implemented, furthermore two outgoing teaching mobilities as well. The success of the mobilities is proved by the further collaborative intents (research projects), besides - in the case of the internships - the further employment opportunities offered by the firm.

Summary of bilateral results

Our current institutional agreement with the NTNU partner (with its predecessor, Aalesund) was signed in 2014 for business and administration, electronics and automation and ICT educational fields. Regarding the education, the Norwegian partner is famous for its IT concerned education methods (smartphone, laptop, Internet) of which utility is inevitable for the fulfilment of the professional subjects. The Institution is also famous for its interactive and student-oriented approach. All these mean benchmarks for us. Regarding to the students’ positive feedbacks and research and innovation opportunities in lecturers’ cooperation or launch a joint master degree, we intend to sustain the institutional relationships which were strengthened during the previous years and the EAA project. The agreement between Óbuda University and Bifröst University was also signed in 2014; there were mobilities implemented before the EAA project as well. However, the EAA experience contributed to the professional development of the teachers – one of them went on with her PhD, the other teacher gained new approaches relating to his research topic, primer international and local knowledge and further motivation to carry on his research including other colleagues as well. Due to these visits and the mutually profitable personal meetings, the partner university offered a financial benefit (25%) for our students applying for their summer university. After the end of the program, the visit of the institutional coordinator of the Icelandic University is due in 2017. One goal of the coordinator’s visit is the evaluation of the project, the other beyond the mobility issues is the support of the common future researches and projects. Therefore, we would like to strengthen the collaborations in this field as well. The first student mobility success at HILTI, the collaborative experience with the company and company representatives determine us to sustain the relationship established during the EAA project between the institution and the company. By this we provide new fellowship places, development opportunities or further career basis for our students, moreover, it is also a proud to have professional relationship with an internationally recognized company, where our students can work in international environment, with the most modern devices and well-prepared professionals.
