Description

"The aim of the project to organize cultural events to develop the identity of gypsy youth, help their artistic development and decrease prejudice of others. The main activities of the project: creating a theater group, organising an Indian/Gypsy day with photo exhibition and an exhibition of gypsy amateaur painters with launch of books. The target group of the project: gypsy youth and youth in state custody from Tiszadob primary school and the population of Tiszadob. We fill two areas with cultural events (based on need assessments), contribute to the useful spending of the free time of population, to the knowledge dissemination regarding gypsies, and to the increase the tolerance of others. All activities are sustainable.The majority enjoy gypsy events, acknowledge their value creation activities and products.The self confidence, the cultural identity of the minoritincrease, the collaboration between gypsies and others improve. We collaborate with the adequate institutes of the areas"

Summary of project results

"The project was very needed, because the social integration, the gipsies’ inclusive raising is a base requirement for a solid nation. With a continous financial support the project could be sustainable and extended. The project’s objective was to raise the gipsies’ social abilities and acquaint the gipsy culture with the people. The project was very successful: a stage-play was formed, the union got rich with new instruments and potencial target groups. In other locations have formed a claim for such a survice. There was a stage-play performance, a painting-exhibition, a book-presentation and an ethnographical lecture, with the participation of 330 people. The organisation of the programmes was organised with the help of the local contact person, placards, leaflets, through e-mails and in person. Through the project, the organisation could reach a new target-group, has have new cooperative partners During the programmes the foundation had not any donor partners, only cooperative ones."
