Summary of project results

The main objective of the project was to establish a dismissive attitude against bullying, to make pedagogies more active in reducing bullying and become better prepared handling such problems. 3 professionals of the Foundation, 10 psychology and 1 special education pedagogy students and pupils of 3 primary schools were involved. Voluntary students were prepared for the project work in several trainings –learning about bullying, group dynamics, methodology etc.-, they had the continuous possibility to consult with the project’s psychologist and later they participated in the survey. More than 30 pedagogies took part in the Teachers’ workshop which aimed to collect the anti-bullying norms, however participants could not reach consensus. Instead, they conceived the need for practical examples, exercises and ideas what they can use during classes. Responding the aroused needs, the project promoter prepared a publication for pedagogies summarizing the basic knowledge on bullying including a useful exercise book that can contribute to the anti-bulling norms in the institutions. The feedback of head-teachers shows that the exercises are useful and children are interested in participating. “Mental Media Workshops” were organized for the pupils once a week – 25 times altogether - that resulted 3 anti-bullying short videos. During the talking classes the videos were introduced to the pupils and with the volunteers they could elaborate the topics. Altogether 51 talking class were organized in the 3 schools. Volunteers prepared two questionnaires: one for analyzing the situation and one for measuring the effectiveness of the project; both questionnaires were filled by 200 pupils. Anti-bullying closing days were organized in two schools where several groups and classes participated in the playful workshops that summarized up the children’s knowledge on bullying and intervening.
