Summary of project results

Some years ago Nagymákfa village had a little shop, but it was closed down. And there is no place left for social contact. And that is why the community started eroding. Therefore it was necessary to create a place where people of all ages and social groups can meet. The goal of the project was to establish a community space in Nagymákfa, a once independent village next to Vasvár. The organizers of the project renovated an old building for this purpose with active involvement of the local community and organized cultural, arts and crafts events and cultural groups. The renovation did not only resulted in a new community centre, but also strengthened the cohesion of the local community. Altogether 1748 volunteer hours were dedicated by the members of community to renovate the building. After this process this place served as community centre, and various programs were organized here, e.g. they organized a round table as well. Altogether 63 volunteers were involved into the realization of the project, and all the programs for open for anyone and for free of charge
