Description

Tolerance regarding autism is quite low, social conflicts are frequent and strong, the number of special services are minimal. The objective of the project is raising awareness for the problem of autism locally and by the online campaign countrywide. The project's expected achievement is the improvement of the life quality of the affected families and the quality of the time spent in schools. The organizers join the „Light It Up Blue!” movement by lighting up the local castle. People taking part in the campaign through different activities - like hiking, doing sport, photographing - gain knowledge about autism and they become sensitive and devoted regarding the support of integration. The target groups of the project are: students, teachers, sportsmen, photographers, hikers, locals, autistic people and their families.

Summary of project results

Autism is often invisible. The behaviour- different from the average- and the reaction of the society make conformities for the families difficult. Parents rarely go to community with their child and they are also excluded from the services and the society in the long run. Abigél public company consists of parents bringing up their autistic child. The company worked out programs in the blue-lit castle like light-painted hand-made work, photo competition. The aim of finding out the right elements of the program to get closer to the autistic children with the experienced activities and to understand, accept the concerned families. Moreover, it is to involve the working target audience to see the value and the aptitude of the area. Thanks to all these, Salgótarján could support the worked out programs. We propagated autism with the involved target audience, so everybody was motivated to work out the programs. Nearly 200 people were directly committed to accept.
