Description

People with intellectual disabilities and autism are not supplied at North Pest County which is the only organization that helps and offers complex services in a 50 km range. The number of conflicts arising from organizational structure is high, there is no consonance and the division of the tasks between the colleagues are really difficult. The loaded resources are utilized thus the territorial fragmentation makes also causes problems too. The objective is to strengthen the civic collaboration that contributes to the improvement of a new, more effective organizational structure and the realization of inter-sectoral cooperation. The development will clarify the responsibilities of colleagues, the division of work will be efficient and colleagues become experts of their field through advanced trainings. The development of tolerance, empathy, active listening and several competencies is expected. The main target groups are the colleagues and managers, the organizational leader and the members of Change Assist Work Group.

Summary of project results

People with intellectual disabilities and autism are not treated properly in North Pest County and only this organization,the project promoter helps and offers them complex services in a 50 km range. Although the organization has faced a lot of organizational problems, such as problems related to division of tasks, available resources, etc. That is why the project focused on the organizational development of the project promoter in order to better serve its target group on the long run. The main objective of the project was to improve, develop the organization by trainings, supervision and coaching for the leaders and staff, through team and specific trainings and playback theater technique and different tests. They worked on to develop a new organizational structure as well, through the new colleagues can more easily be aware of their responsibilities and they could eliminate their overwhelmingness by proper task-division. So the direct, the main target group of the project was formed by the staff of the organization and also those professionals who worked with and for people with mental disabilities. Coaching for the leader(s), and also role building of the leader(s) were concluded, as one of the main objectives was to decrease the overwhelmingness of the leaders. But also efficient HR management was targeted by the development programs, processes as well. They also dealt with improving, revising their mission, values, vision, and their organizational structure based on these in team work. Three working groups were created, and they dealt with the human resources, and mission, current situation of the organization, main challenges and possible solutions in communication. Awareness raising trainings were organized for new colleagues as well in order to prepare them for cooperation and common work with their clients. They also launched a fundraising campaign, and Tom Lumen, guitar player plays a song to raise attention to donating to his organization and supprot them by purchasing the products prepared and created by people with mental disabilities. The organization was efficiently improved in several areas, for example before this project one person led the organization, and as a result of the project now the organization is led by three persons. So they could share the tasks and responsibilities successfully, the communication and PR of the organization was developed as well, which is essential for advocating for people with mental disabilities.
