In our society place of birth, upbringing and environment shape each person's social skills differently. The goal of drama pedagogy is to raise individuals who acknowledge their abilities and values, who work effectively and creatively, who can manage their conflicts and stressful situations and become valuable members of society. The young people as well as the adults of our society are in need of big help in this field. Our project offers a chance for them to learn these abilities. Social integration and learning of social rules is especially hard for children who are not raised in families. Some of these children suffer from some sort of deviancy, and are segregated. Our goal is to help these young people in re-socialization. This cooperation is also beneficial for the children in Abakusz Workshop Association who are raised in families. It helps to develop their empathic skills, they learn how to help others, their values develop. They accept their peers who are raised in children’s homes.
Summary of project results
The project was needed because of the development of the involved target groups and their social sensitization. And they taught the children how to build a community. The children's and their parents' majority was very satistfied with the projectvand would like to continue it. In the frame of the project children with different background (Roma, middle class, living without family or in poverty) participated in theater workshops on weekly basis and created new plays. They went on excursions in the country and also abroad and participated in thematic events. 98 children participated in the project, and the performances realized by them have been visited by more than 3000 people.
